Hunting Training After the Shot at Ulkeröds Gård

At Ulkeröds Gård we conduct a number of hunting-related training courses. Our After the Shot training courses aim to teach you as a hunter how to care for your shot animal after the shot.

What we as hunters fail to do in the forest, the chef cannot fix in the kitchen.

Our training courses are aimed at those of you who are newly graduated or experienced hunters and who want to learn how to make the best use of your shot animal. Remember that when you have shot an animal, there is food lying there. The handling of the game is absolutely crucial for the quality and taste of the meat. It starts already in the forest and requires the hunter to shoot a perfect shot without destroying the best pieces of meat.

"There are just over 300,000 hunters in Sweden. The majority of the animals that are hunted are killed for their meat."
The annual yield of game meat is approximately 16,000 tons, which corresponds to approximately 4 percent of all the meat we eat in the country.

Sweden is thus the country in the world that eats the most game meat per capita.

Wild meat is completely organic because, unlike domesticated animals, it is free from pharmaceuticals and often also from pesticides and chemicals.

"A characteristic of all game meat is that it is richer in flavor and darker than that from domestic animals. It is a natural resource that is well worth enjoying."
