Vitlycke Museum
Visiting Vitlycke Museum means travelling 3,000 years back in time. You will get a fantastic insight into the everyday life of the Bronze Age through live exhibitions and unique environments. Thousands of rock carvings that are on the UNESCO World Heritage List are a special attraction. Here you can walk freely among the rocks or go on a guided tour and find out all about the exciting rock carvings. Discover the fantastic rock carvings along a six-kilometre hiking trail, where you can see carvings of shamans, a swing and ships, with people doing backflips and much more. If you want to experience the everyday life of 3,000 years ago, visit the Bronze Age farmstead. In the exhibition, you will get to know some of the one-time residents of Tanum, whom you will accompany on exciting trips out to Europe in search of the golden bronze. During the summer at Vitlycke Museum, you can try your hand at different crafts, such as carding wool, plant dyeing, bronze casting, shooting a bow and arrow or greeting the sheep that roam freely on the Bronze Age farmstead.
