Sofia B Olsson at Ulkeröds Gård
On 17 October, our chef, Jonas Blomstervall, invited Sofia B Olsson to the restaurant Ekbacken at Ulkeröds Gård. Sofia was involved in starting the restaurant VRÅ at the Clarion Hotel Post in September 2012. Hers is a well-known name on the Gothenburg restaurant scene, as she has previously worked at the restaurant Basement in Gothenburg, which had one Michelin star at the time.
In 2018 Sofia was pronounced Sustainable Innovator of the Year by the Sustainable Restaurants Network. She also won the Stella 2018 mentor award for her leadership and her ability to support and promote female chefs. Sofia has competed in the Chef of the Year competition and turned VRÅ into one of the best fish restaurants in Sweden. In the autumn of 2018, Sofia participated in a programme called Kockarnas Kamp on TV4. “A sashimi on sliced scallop with white soy and fresh and pickled pears is a typical VRÅ dish, easily one of the best fish dishes we’ve got in Gothenburg this year” Whiteguide
