Stay together – with room for the whole party
The hen house is for those of you who want your own accommodation where family, relatives or friends can gather and live together.
On 70 m², supplemented by two sleeping lofts , there are four bedrooms, a total of 12 beds , two toilets with showers, a fully equipped kitchen and a large common room with a dining area.
Directly outside the common room is the private patio – a natural extension of the house during the warmer part of the year.
Just like Manhuset, we offer Hönshuset primarily as weekly accommodation Sunday–Sunday or long weekend Wednesday–Sunday.
From chicken coop to guesthouse
The name Hönshuset tells a small part of Ulkeröds Gård's history.
This location previously housed the farm's chicken coop, built around 1920. When we bought Ulkeröds Gård, we needed a guesthouse where friends and acquaintances could stay when they visited.
The old chicken coop was demolished and in 2004 we built a completely new house on the same site.
We liked the name, however – so we had to keep it.
The new house therefore became the Hönshuset , and to this day the idea is the same: a house where family and friends can live and spend time together.
Space for up to 12 people
The chicken coop is planned so that a larger group can live together and at the same time have separate bedrooms.
There are four bedrooms , all with bunk beds. Each bunk bed has a 120 cm wide lower bed and an 80 cm wide upper bed.
It provides eight beds in the four bedrooms.
In addition, there are two sleeping lofts with two separate beds in each loft , providing an additional four sleeping places.
There are a total of 12 beds in Hönshuset.
The house also has two toilets with showers , which makes the accommodation practical even when there are many of you.
Fully equipped kitchen and space for socializing
The heart of Hönshuset is the large common room with kitchen and dining area.
Here the whole group can gather for breakfast, dinner or just settle down together after the day's activities and excursions.
The fully equipped kitchen includes:
- Stove with oven and microwave
- Refrigerator and freezer
- Dishwasher
- Coffee maker
- Kettle
- Toaster
- Kitchen equipment for cooking and serving
From the common room you have direct access to Hönshuset's own patio with outdoor furniture . Here you can have breakfast outdoors, settle down after the day's excursion or enjoy a long evening together.
When you don't want to cook your own food, there is Restaurant Ekbacken on the farm.

The hen house is intended for groups who want more time together than a single overnight stay provides.
Unpack your bags, fill the fridge and make Hönshuset your own for a few days. From here you can discover Ulkeröds Gård, take excursions in both Bohuslän and Dalsland or just enjoy spending time together.
Therefore, we primarily offer two stays:
Week – Sunday to Sunday
Seven nights for family, relatives or friends who want Ulkeröds Gård as a base for their holiday and plenty of time to both relax and discover the surroundings.
Long weekend – Wednesday to Sunday
Four nights for those of you who want to get away together for a few consecutive days and still have time to unpack, relax and get more out of your stay.
The dog is allowed to come with you.
The chicken coop is dog-friendly , so your dog can come along too.
When you book with a dog, we prepare a dog bed, food and water bowl, dog treats and poop bags.
Dogs are also welcome in Restaurant Ekbacken, provided they are calm and under control.
