Welcome to Ulkeröds Gård
Midway between Bohuslän's mountainous coastal landscape and Dalsland's deep forests lies Sannesocken and Ulkeröd's Gård. Here, the landscape is undulating, beautiful and varied – forests, lakes, mountain peaks, fields, meadows and pastures everywhere. The old cultural settlement has never really suited itself well to large-scale agriculture. The people here have had to make a living from a little bit of everything – hunting, fishing, animal husbandry and small-scale farming and forestry. Ulkeröd has been a place of residence since the 1400th century and the buildings on the farm date back to the 1600th century. Thanks to careful renovation, history can still be felt on the farm today. All renovations and new constructions blend in and give a genuine feeling that harmonizes with nature and the surrounding environment.
It was these beautiful surroundings that my family and I fell for when we bought Ulkeröds Gård in 2003. I think we searched for almost ten years for the perfect place for relaxation, nature experiences and hunting. It really is a blessing for the soul to come here from the big city. The fresh air, the scents and the silence make it easy to unwind and disconnect from everyday stress. Here we gather strength and inspiration just from breathing and being.
Over the years, we have expanded the land and carefully renovated and built the farm. Among other things, we have built a farm hotel and a restaurant, we have also built one of the country's most challenging courses for clay pigeon shooting. The farm is 465 ha of which 300 ha consists of productive forest and 105 ha is open land for agriculture and pasture. On the farm there is a deer fence, lamb breeding and a stock of Higland Cattle.
Today, Ulkeröd is an ideal place for the culinary encounter with well-prepared food. The location is excellent for those looking for a bit of privacy without having to travel so far - it only takes about an hour from Gothenburg and Oslo is almost as close.
Welcome to us at Ulkeröds Gård!
